Who We Are
I have been designing and installing gardens in Seattle for over 2O years. These many years of hands on experience have given me a base of knowledge and the gift of vision. In landscape design, there is no substitute for time in teaching you how to best use your medium. I was drawn to this work by a deep love of plants that began as a child growing up in the Minnesota woods. Early on I discovered that I had a “knack” for design because I excelled in solving problems. I continued to develop this ability through years of study and experience, as I blended my appreciation of plants with problem solving. This evolved into the work that I love doing…designing gardens. I believe that plant knowledge and spatial problem solving are my biggest strengths.
My business philosophy is to listen to my clients needs, and then drawing on my experience, knowledge, and creativity translate them into expert execution by my experienced crew. I have built my reputation on being able to give my clients excellent service along with fair prices. My educated and efficient crew is integral in continuing to provide this service to you.
What We Do
We specialize in designing, renovating and building urban gardens…creating gardens of many different profiles. We also work on bare sites including new construction and remodels, often working in tandem with architects to hone the design to our clients needs.

We use a wide variety of plants for color and texture when we carefully choose plants to suit each site, as well as each client. In the Pacific Northwest where gardens are brimming over with color in the spring, we strive to distribute the botanical splendor throughout the seasons…creating late summer exuberance, fall color displays and subtle winter fragrance.
Creating Your Garden
Because gardens are a personal expression, we will help you to define your desires and goals. We work with clients who are intimately involved gardeners as well as the most self proclaimed black thumbs.
Inspiration will come from the site, as well as your dreams taste and style. Clear communication and attention to individual needs are an important part of our designing style.
We will walk the property with you, listening to your needs and desires. We photograph and inventory the existing plantings and hardscape and then begin to formulate a plan.
Your degree of participation will be important information before we begin this first phase. A design proposal is presented subject to your approval. We will define the scope of work based on the budget you provide and the design process begins. Working closely with you at this stage we perfect and personalize the plan. After design presentation and revisions, the garden is expertly installed according to the plan by our experienced landscape team…and the garden is yours to enjoy for years to come.
Note: We do have a short list of finished landscape designs that are suitable for drive by viewing, with one caveat…even the best garden design has no value with out regular and skilled maintenance. And please remember, just as every client is different; every landscape design is unique to the clients needs.
